The start of May heralds the hope of better weather and summer being just around the corner. Here at Gourmet Brownie Ltd and for many of our foodie friends it is the start of a busy show season, and what better way to get started than the Ely Food & Drink Festival.
This event is a particular favourite for us, as it takes place in our home city and is found in the shadow of the stunning Ely cathedral. Being in our home town gives us the opportunity to see many of our customers and friends who have supported us from the very early years. At this show we introduce our new flavours for the coming show season and it is great to see the smiles that follow the first bite of a new flavour.
I also enjoy taking time out to take a look around the festival and have a sense of excitement for the new artisan treats that I will find, but also knowing that I will see many of our foodie friends from across the years.
In the foodie world there is a great community of business owners that have come from many different walks of life and have settled upon the not so easy task of running their own food and drink business. Each of us are passionate about our chosen food or drink, and have put our heart and soul into making a product which is the best it can possibly be. Running a food business is not an easy task and so it is great to catch up at events to chat about our ups and downs, to share a laugh, to seek advice on future plans and to celebrate successes.
