The last couple of months have been a flurry of activity at Gourmet Brownie, not only preparing for the Christmas season, but also being recognised for some of the work we do within our community.
This year we were delighted to become finalists for the East Cambridgeshire Business Awards. In late September we took two of our long standing team members to a gala evening at Ely Cathedral to celebrate local business. We were surprised and delighted to have won two awards. We were crowned “Small Business of the Year”and Andrew won “Business Person of the Year”. The judges praised our strong values and commitment to the local community. They also recognised Andrew’s achievement guiding Gourmet Brownie’s development from “a small family operation into a nationally trading business.”
Our brownies taste good and do good
We are also proud to be recognised as a Disability Confident business, providing flexible work opportunities and training in our kitchens. Right now, this means we’re helping two young people with additional needs enter the workforce.
Disability Confident is a scheme that is designed to help you recruit and retain disabled people and people with health conditions for their skills and talent.
Being Disability Confident could help you discover someone your business just can’t do without and for us this has certainly proved true.
